I started off taking classes at the GLS (www.gls-german-courses.de), which is in itself is a fantastic school, but unfortunately I think I was at least 10 years older than most of the people in my class. Not to mention the fact that these kids were basically just sent to Berlin to "live a little" while their parents "wintered" in places like Greece... so yeah, I felt like an Old every time I walked in the door. So I switched programs and now I'm taking classes at the Tandem school. It's fantastic, much more my style, and still really close to our flat. The class moves really quickly; we're only in our second week and we've already had to turn in an essay!
The hardest part of learning a new language has got to be the grammar. And not just because it's grammar in a foreign language, but because I honestly do not remember the logic behind proper English grammar! I mean, seriously - when was the last time you tried to wrap your head around things like dative, nominative, accusative, etc?? Deutsch ist schwer.
Tonight we are heading to see Yelle - yay for French electro pop!
